Kudule and Strautmane combine for a 46 points in big upset win

 TTT juniores fought off the nerves and stormed past Estonian champions 1182 Tallinn for the first time in nine games to grab a 61-54 road win on Sunday, February 7.

 

 

It took three and a half years to get there.

 

The first win came in appropriate fashion, marking the first Top 6 success for the guest team.

 

Ainārs Čukste side controlled the action from the start and held the hosts to 27 points in the first three quarters 44-27.

 

1182 Tallinn while playing without its leader Pirgit Püü closed the 17 point gap all the way down to a few points when Sindija Kudule hit from the deep with two minutes left to play.

 

The hosts added some free throws as they walked away as the winners.

 

TTT juniores improved to 1-2 while 1182 Tallinn dropped to 1-3.

 

All time series: 1-8 (this season 1-2).

 

Stat of the game: TTT juniores starters outscored their opponents by 24 points 54-30.

 

Stars of the game: Digna Strautmane had her best performance in the Top 6 games so far. She scored 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the field, grabbed nine rebounds, forced six fouls and blocked four shots for a efficiency rating of 29.

 

Sindija Kudule had a career high 21 points. She added seven rebounds, three assists, nine forced fouls and two steals for a efficiency rating of 21.

 

Sigita Džarcāne posted eight points and a game high 11 rebounds.

 

Mailis Pokk was the lone scorer in double figures, with 12 points for the hosts.
