TTT Riga score 100 points in a win over Vega 1/Liepāja

With a 100-56 home rout of Vega 1/Liepāja (2-1) on Wednesday, October 19, TTT Rīga (3-0) moved to the 36th straight win in the Latvia-Estonia league action.

 

 

Vega 1/Liepāja was close to renew a contract with American forward Cherelle Moore (University of Hartford; America East Conference) however the deal did not materialized.

 

Before the game team suffered another blow – Lithuanian forward Kriste Druskyte got an ankle injury and did not dress on Wednesday night for Liepāja.

 

Seventeen year old forwards Sabīne Lipe and Emīlija Krista Grava made the starting five instead to take on Gunta Baško-Melnbārde, Aishah Sutherland and Co.

 

The hosts took a fast lead and dominated throughout the first half to build a 30 point lead before the break, 52-22.

 

Aigars Nerips team went on a 22-12 run in the third quarter to widen the gap up to 42 points, 76-34.

 

Vega 1/Liepāja found its shooting range in the final 10 minutes of the game only.

 

All time series: 8-0 (this season 1-0).

 

Stat of the game: the hosts scored 60 points in the paint, while Vega 1/Liepāja answered with 20 points.

 

Stars of the game: Aishah Sutherland (Kansas) shined bright like a diamond, finishing the game with 27 points and 10 rebounds.

 

Anda Eibele and Ieva Krastiņa added six assists each.

 

Vega 1/Liepāja captain Kristīne Silarāja had 13 points, five rebounds and four assists. Ilze Jākobsone and Ieva Vītola scored 12 points each.
