1182 Tallinn posts ugly win over TTT juniores

1182 Tallinn returned to winning ways by downing TTT juniores 64-60 in a tight finish in Rīdzene gym on Saturday, January 31.

 

Tallinn club won its previous encounter against Ainārs Čukste side with a record margin of 73 points 114-41.

 

TTT juniores travelled to the Estonian capital without three starting-five players – Paula Strautmane, Digna Strautmane and Kristiāna Rikveile – back then. All three were available on Saturday.

 

For a couple of minutes in the second quarter 1182 Tallinn players were beautiful. They went on a 11-0 run to finish the first half with a 32-21 lead.

 

The game was even rest of the way. TTT juniores, even playing without second center Anna Dreimane, grabbed seven offensive rebounds more (7-14) to score some second chance points.

 

1182 Tallinn players also made two mistakes more (23-21).

 

All time series: 5-0 (this season 2-0).

 

Stat of the game: The hosts 16 steals made the difference as the hosts finished with just nine, including five steals by Paula Strautmane.

 

Stars of the game: Pirgit Püü had 12 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Annika Köster added 10 points, six rebounds and three steals. Paula Strautmane replied with 17 points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals. Sindija Kudule posted her first double-double, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
