Cēsis gets revenge and semifinal ticket

SK Cēsis won the second quarter by 23 points to beat 1182 Tallinn, 91-65, on Saturday, February 28. The hosts booked a semi-final ticket to the Latvia-Estonia league Final Six tournament.

 

Cēsis players entered the game have lost two consecutive road games against 1182 Tallinn and including a 81-85 loss three weeks ago after blowing a 25 points lead.

 

This time Uģis Viļums side began Saturday`s afternoon`s game even stronger to give Cēsis a 29 points lead at the halftime, 54-25.

 

The hosts continued strong to extend their lead up to 32 points before the final 10 minutes, 80-48.

Stars of the game: Sabīne Niedola fell one rebound short of double-double, finishing with 17 points and 9 rebounds for a efficiency rating of 26. Sisters Zane and Ilze Jākobsone added 18 and 17 points respectively.

 

Laina Mesila-Kaarmann scored 16 points, while Birgit Piibur had 12 points and four assists.
