Three point rain does not save Rapla

Five games were held during the weekend, including three games in the second group (7-13th place). Latvia U16 team, Tartu University and Vega 1/Liepāja all celebrated their first wins, while "AmEst Rapla" finished the trip to Riga and Liepaja with two losses.

 

"AmEst Rapla" players (1-2) made 7 three pointers in the last 11 minutes of the game against Latvia U16 team (1-1), however, it wasn`t enough to overcome their younger opponents.

 

Center Digna Strautmane and forward Luīze Šepte were crucial, scoring a combined 24 points in the second half, while adding eight rebounds, three assists and six steals to complete the final push – 86:83 (20:21, 20:20, 24:21, 22:21).

 

Rapla guard Kaia Kosk achieved her fourth double-double of the season with a team high 19 points and 11 rebounds.

 

Both teams scored 20 or more points in each quarter, making a total of 169 points. Latvia U16 team won the battle of rebounds, 46-34, and scored 24 more points inside the three point line (31/60 vs 19/47).

 

All time series: 3-1 (this season 2-0)

 

Stat of the game: Rapla players made 9 of 20 three point attempts (45%), but made only 19 of 47 two point attempts (40,4%).

 

Star of the game: 14 years and three months old Luīze Šepte shined throughout the game, finishing the task with 20 points, seven rebounds, five assists and six steals.
