Lilleallik hits game winner in Riga

Janeli Lilleallik hit a game winning three pointer to complete a 14-4 comeback run for the Tallinn University in a 72-70 road win over RSU/Merks on Saturday, October 10.

 

Aivars Vīnbergs side led by eight points midway through the fourth quarter (56-64 and 58-66).

 

The hosts got into the foul trouble then as three of their starting five players – Anna Buša, captain Paula Langina and Arta Frīdenberga – were fouled out.

 

Mirjam Nikolai took over the game, while Anastassia Ptitsõna and Janeli Lilleallik made huge shots from the deep.

 

All time series: 3-6 (this season 1-0).

 

Stat of the game: Tallinn University won its second consecutive road game against RSU/Merks (83-70 and 72-70) and third game overall.

 

Stars of the game: Mirjam Nikolai posted 29 points on 11-of-21 shooting from the field. She added nine rebounds, three assists and six steals. Ptitsõna had 12 points and five rebounds.

 

Anna Buša collected 15 points and three assists. RSU/Merks captain Paula Langina had 11 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots.
