Tallinn University still undefeated against Latvijas Universitāte

Kaia Kosk and Mirjam Nikolai combined for a 35 points to lead Tallinn University (3-0) to a 66-60 home victory over Latvijas Universitāte (1-2) on Saturday, October 24.

 

Former Rapla leader Kosk was perfect from the three point line, making all three of her attempts in the first half.

 

Janne Rits players were 5 of 9 from the perimeter during that stretch while the LU students were 1 of 11 overall.

 

Kosk and Nikolai accumulated 19 points in the first 20 minutes to a 39-25 lead.

 

Dynamic duo added another 16 points in the second half.

 

Linda Magone scored five points in the last two minutes to cut the gap to four (61-57) and five (65-60) points respectively but it wasn`t enough for the guests.

 

All time series: 8-0 (this season 1-0)

 

Stat of the game: LU players scored 11 points more off turnovers (26-15), while hit only 4 of 22 three pointers.

 

Stars of the game: Mirjam Nikolai paced the winners again with 18 points, eight rebounds, six assists and five steals. Kaia Kosk finished with 17 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the three point line.

 

LU captain Zane Neilande registered her first double-double. She had 12 points and 11 rebounds. Newcomer from Ogre, Liāna Āliņa scored 15 points.
