1182 Tallinn wins all Estonian battle to claim the Final 6 spot

Laina Mesila-Kaarmann: first double-double of the season

 In the last All-Estonian matchup of the regular season on Tuesday, March 15, 1182 Tallinn edged the Tallinn University 80-59, sweeping the season series 3-0.

 

 

Howard Frier`s and Gerly Kostla`s side prevailed in all four quarters, extending their lead to 3, 7, 15 and 21 points respectively.

 

The guests shot more than 50% from the field, including 6 of 12 from three point range and 27 of 49 inside the arc.

 

They held their opponents to 33% shooting accuracy in their own court, limiting them to just 59 points.

 

1182 Tallinn improved to 4-4 to secure the last remaining automatic bid to the Final 6 tournament, while Tallinn University dropped to 1-8.

Pirgit Püü set her Latvia-Estonia league career record in assists, dishing out 10 assists. She added 13 points enroute to her first double-double of the season. Dynamic guard had 17 points and 10 forced fouls in a home win over the Tallinn University.

 

Finnish guard Petra Noponen connected her first three point attempt for the winners.

 

Trine Kasemägi replied with 19 points and five rebounds, while Dayton alumni Samantha Mac Kay had 15 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals.
