TTT Riga becomes first team to finish 10-0 in Top 6 tournament

 TTT Riga became just the second team to complete a perfect Latvia-Estonia league regular season on Friday, March 25, as the hosts improved to 20-0 with a 91-72 victory over 1182 Tallinn.

 

 

Aigars Nerips and Jānis Nešpors team becomes the first team in the Latvia-Estonia league history to finish the Top 6 tournament with a 10-0 record.

 

TTT Riga, 2016 regular season winners, await the winner of the quarterfinal matchup between 1182 Tallinn and TTT juniores (#5) or Latvijas Universitāte (#8) on Saturday, April 9.

 

1182 Tallinn played hard to score impressive 72 points against the EuroCup play-offs team.

 

TTT Riga led only by nine points midway the fourth quarter 74-65.

 

Baiba Eglīte and Ieva Krastiņa connected a couple of three pointers to spark a 17-7 run in the final five minutes.

 

All time series: 12-1 (this season 3-0).

 

Stat of the game: TTT Riga outrebounded 1182 Tallinn by 16 boards 25-9 in the first half.

 

Stars of the game: Ieva Krastiņa scored a game high 19 points on 3-of-6 shooting outside the three point line.

 

Ieva Kūlīte and Baiba Eglīte added 12 points each, including important baskets during the clutch time.

 

Pirgit Püü had 17 points, seven rebounds and eight assists, while Mailis Pokk scored 16 points.
