Trine Kasemägi posts huge double-double in a loss against TTT

Trine Kasemägi scored 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds but it wasn`t enough for the Tallinn University (1-1) to stop the 15-time Latvian champions TTT Rīga (1-0) in a 57-85 home loss on Saturday, October 15.

 

 

Kasemägi and Daytona graduate Samantha MacKay (Atlantic 10 conference) combined for a 12 points in the first three minutes of the game to give a 12-6 lead for the Janne Rits side.

 

TTT Riga responded with the strong play in the paint to earn 33 free throws the rest of the way. All 10 players from Latvian capital scored in the first half for a 30-49 advantage before the break.

 

Kasemägi maintained her presence under the basket throughout the game, while Finnish guard Petra Noponen added a couple of three pointers.

 

Aigars Nerips and Jānis Nešpors side improved to 1-0, while the hosts dropped to 0-1.

 

All time series: 0-13 (this season 0-1).

 

Stat of the game: the hosts had 12 steals, while TTT registered 13 steals.

 

Stars of the game: Kasemägi finished with 27 points on 9-of-17 shooting from the field. She made all eight free throws and added 12 rebounds for a efficiency rating of 34.

 

Giedre Paugaite had 14 points, 11 rebounds and seven forced fouls in a winning effort.
