TTT juniores work hard to beat Tallinn University

TTT juniores remained undefeated after a 40 minute effort in a 72-54 home win over Estonian vice-champions Tallinn University on Saturday, October 22.

 

 

The hosts used good communication and strong team play for a 22-13 lead early in the second quarter.

 

Janne Rits team responded with a 0-12 run to turn the tables, 22-25.

 

It didn`t last long as TTT juniores regained initiative in a few minutes to finish the first half with a six point advantage, 32-26.

 

Ten players scored for the hosts during the opening 20 minutes, including 13 points by 17 year old forward Luīze Šepte.

 

TTT juniores extended their lead up to 15 points late in the third quarter, 50-35.

 

Tallinn University cut the gap to six points after two consecutive three pointers by Samantha MacKay (Daytona), 52-46.

 

Luīze Šepte, Linda Svenne, Kristiāna Sprudzāne and Nikola Ozola were not intimidated nor frightened.

 

They worked hard to finish the last quarter strong, while Janeta Rozentāle did a good job against Trine Kasemägi.

 

All time series: 4-6 (this season 1-0).

 

Stat of the game: TTT juniores forced seven turnovers more than their opponents (14-21).

 

Stars of the game: Luīze Šepte scored 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field. She also had four rebounds and four steals.

 

Nikola Ozola and Kristiāna Sprudzāne added 11 points each. Sindija Kudule had nine rebounds and six assists..

 

Trine Kasemägi posted double-double, finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
