Official: Cēsis sign three time NCAA champion Jessica Moore

Nordea Basketball league champions SK Cēsis (16-2, second round 5-1) signed 31 year old American power forward Jessica Moore (191/1982/Connecticut).

 

The previous season Moore played at Washington Mystics in the WNBA (May 15-July 5). After being cut she joined the Mystics basketball operations staff as an assistant to the head coach Mike Thibault (according to Swish Appeal, July 6).

 

Moore was originally selected by the Charlotte Sting in the second round (24th overall) of the 2005 WNBA draft. She has played for the Los Angeles Sparks (2005-2008), Indiana Fever (2009-2010), Connecticut Sun (2011), Atlanta Dream (2012) and Washington Mystics (2013).

 

Jessica Moore was a center for the eight time NCAA champions UConn Huskies from 2000-2005. 

 

She was a key member of three Championship Teams (2002, 2003, 2004), established then an NCAA women’s basketball record with 70 consecutive wins, played in every game of her career (145), and finished her career ranked third all time in field goal percentage (58,4%).

 

Moore played together with Diana Taurasi, Sue Bird and other famous players. Her coach was Geno Auriemma.

 

Alaska native played for Cēsis in the spring of 2008. Moore had 12.9 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 16 games.
